“A child creates, an adult creates, a god creates, and a manufacturing plant creates. Combining materials and parts builds objects and societies, even ideas. Sometimes these combinations can be of doubtful merit, and sometimes they can be destructive.” In “Parts together make” Grant questions the distinction between natural and artificial, the relevance of socially held beliefs about creation, and confronts what he refers to as: “the dubious notion of maturity”.
